RESORT RUFFY OVERVIEW

"Resort Ruffy" is a single building clad with dark grey corrugated iron ensuring it disappears into the landscape.

One end is a very comfortable “Cottage” with an enormous kitchen / lounge room / dining area adequate for lots of visitors.

The other end is a five bedroom very comfortable “Bunkhouse”.

In between and still under the same roof line is “The Old Hut”, the original building on the property when we acquired it. We use it as a kids play room, however it would suit as a breakout/meeting room.

“The Shower Shed” is another original shed that has been incorporated into the new building. It contains a shower, basin and washing machine.

“The Deck” is a huge open area between “The Cottage” and “The Bunkhouse” ideal for outside enjoyment with excellent BBQ facilities adjacent to an outdoor sink plus stunning views over the Strathbogie Ranges towards Mt Wombat.

Camp Ruffy sleeps 21 people in 15 beds/bunks across 6 rooms

  • Ideal for weekend/midweek family functions, weddings (magic photographic opportunities amongst the boulders in our High Country - need 4wd), corporate team building/planning retreats, church, school and club getaways without the costs involved in commercial venues.

  • Very remote however only 18 k’s from the Hume Freeway and accessible by any vehicle including a coach

  • Very remote and off grid with batteries powered by solar, hydro and generator on 140 very private acres

  • Terrific bush walking or 4wd on well-defined tracks through rigged granite country with plenty of wildlife.

  • Satellite TV/Foxtel and Internet plus Telstra mobile phone coverage, so quite civilised.

  • Absolute solitude, no passing traffic, unbelievable night skies and perhaps one electric light to be seen after dark.

  • 146 k’s / 99 minutes from the Western Ring Road / Hume Freeway intersection and 198 k’s /2 hours from Albury

  • Drive 30 minutes to Euroa, 45 minutes to Seymour and 60 mins to Shepparton or Benalla.

  • Experience the most magnificent sunrise and sunsets and a sky full of stars all night. Bring your torches for night time wildlife spotting. Wombats are particularly active within metres of your accommodation, but please look and do not hinder. They are relatively safe critters but don’t stand in the way, or you will likely be bowled over.

  • Milk, bread, breakfast cereal and spreads are supplied + eggs if you collect from chickens, BYO food and beverages.

  • We supply pillows, blankets and doonas plus professionally laundered linen, face washers and towels.

  • Behind Resort Ruffy is an orchard, vegetable garden and large fox proof poultry run for our free-range chickens. Feel free to help yourself to some real eggs and fresh fruit in season.

  • You will also experience our quite comical Guinea Fowl wandering around wherever they like.

  • Alongside the Resort Ruffy Bunkhouse is a 12 metre x 4 metre swimming pool with energy and heting supplied by solar.

  • You cannot get much closer to nature.

A great place to go with a bunch of friends. Everything you need is at Camp Ruffy - just show up with your togs and your mates and have a good time. 10/10 weekend, would be back in a heartbeat.
